I came across this quote and I thought it quite powerful for the church today. It was also encouraging to me as I see the role of the body of Christ in the mission that Jesus left us. To reach the lost!
The church is facing some overwhelming challenges. At the same time, the church often finds itself in the weeds. Dealing with things that will not matter in light of eternity.
Regardless, there is an answer to assist believers to have the wisdom, direction, and power to accomplish the mission. Prayer is the most powerful tool believers have that may be underused by many.
Charles Spurgeon made the point that not everyone has the skills of persuasion, leadership, or public speaking, but could be power prayer warriors. His point was that all believers have the opportunity and ability to pray.
The church must be powerful in prayer by making it a priority. Public and private prayer warriors are a necessity when facing the challenges of the world. Additionally, the miracles that are necessary for the advancement of the gospel will come through dedicated and purposeful prayer.
Application
We cannot accomplish supernatural ministry without a connection to the creator. Our heavenly father has designed that we work in tandem with his will, purposes, and in his power. For we cannot do his work on our own.
