Isaiah 12:4 challenges us to live a life of gratitude that doesn’t stop with private reflection but extends outward as a testimony to others. It calls us to give thanks and call upon God’s name and to “make known his deeds among the peoples.” Gratitude becomes a powerful witness when we proclaim what God has done in our lives, sharing His goodness and glory with the world.

“And you will say in that day: ‘Give thanks to the Lord, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the peoples, proclaim that his name is exalted.'” — Isaiah 12:4 (ESV)

This verse comes from a chapter of praise and thanksgiving, where Isaiah looks ahead to the joy of God’s salvation. It reminds us that our gratitude isn’t meant to stay confined to our hearts; it’s meant to overflow into our words and actions. When we openly share how God has been faithful, provided, or transformed our lives, we inspire others to see His work in their stories.

Sharing God’s deeds isn’t about boasting or seeking attention.

It’s about exalting His name and pointing others to Him. When we tell others how God has moved in our lives—big or small—we declare His power, love, and presence. Our testimonies remind those around us that God is active and trustworthy, even in challenging times. They also deepen our faith as we reflect on His faithfulness.

Today, consider how to make God’s deeds known in your circle. Is there a recent answer to prayer, a moment of unexpected provision, or a way He brought peace in a difficult season? Share it with a friend or family member or even through social media. As you share, focus on exalting God’s name, encouraging others to see His goodness and call upon Him.

When shared, gratitude creates a ripple effect.

It draws people closer to God, encourages their faith, and reminds us all of His unchanging character. As you give thanks and proclaim His deeds, you’re participating in a greater story of worship and witness, helping others see God’s glory.

Gratitude becomes a powerful testimony when we share God’s deeds, inspiring others to trust His name.

Action Step
Think of one way God has been faithful to you recently. Share that testimony with at least one person today, using it as an opportunity to exalt His name and encourage their faith.
