Yahweh Tsidkenu: The Lord Our Righteousness

Our efforts to measure up often leave us exhausted and discouraged. Yet the gospel reminds us that righteousness is not something we achieve but something we receive. Yahweh Tsidkenu, the Lord our Righteousness, is the name of God that reveals His gift of right standing with Him through Christ. When shame weighs heavily or failure seems final, we look to the One who clothes us in His righteousness and makes us whole.

“Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land. In his days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell securely. And this is the name by which he will be called: The Lord is our righteousness.” Jeremiah 23:5-6 ESV

We are made righteous not by our works but by trusting in Christ, who is our righteousness.
