Today, we’re focusing on God’s steadfast love—a love that never changes or fades and is always present. Psalm 107:1 is a powerful reminder that God’s goodness and love are eternal. This verse calls us to thank the Lord, not just because He does good things for us but because He is good, and His love endures forever.

“Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!” Psalm 107:1

The word “steadfast” speaks of something firm, unmovable, and reliable. God’s love for us is not based on our performance or our circumstances—it’s unchanging, no matter what. Whether we’re walking through a season of joy or struggle, God’s love remains the same. This is why we can always give thanks. Our gratitude isn’t dependent on what we’re going through; it’s based on who God is, and He is always worthy of our praise.

It is comforting to know that God’s love never wavers.

In a world where so much is uncertain, we have the assurance that God’s love is constant. People may let us down, circumstances may change, and we may face unexpected challenges, but God’s love is steadfast. It endures through every trial, every failure, and every success. This unchanging love gives us a reason to be grateful, even on the hardest days.

Psalm 107 is a beautiful chapter that recounts different situations where God’s people found themselves in distress, and each time, God’s love and goodness brought them through. The psalmist repeats, “Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man” (Psalm 107:8, 15, 21, 31). It’s a reminder that no matter what we face, God’s love is at work, and He is faithful to bring us through.

When we reflect on God’s steadfast love, our hearts are filled with gratitude. We begin to see His hand in every situation, even the difficult ones. We remember the times He has carried us, provided for us, and comforted us. Gratitude for God’s love changes our perspective—it shifts our focus from our problems to His presence, from our fears to His faithfulness.

One practical way to cultivate gratitude for God’s steadfast love is to take a moment each day to recall a specific instance where you experienced His love. It could be a time when He answered a prayer, provided for a need, or simply gave you peace in a difficult moment. Write it down, and thank God for His unchanging love. As you make this a habit, you’ll find that your awareness of His love grows, and your heart becomes more attuned to His presence.

God’s love is not just something we receive—it’s also something we are called to share.

When we are grateful for God’s love, it overflows into our relationships with others. We become more patient, more forgiving, and more compassionate. We love because He first loved us (1 John 4:19). Today, let your gratitude for God’s steadfast love inspire you to show that love to those around you.

Let’s take time today to thank God for His steadfast love. Let’s remember that His love is not dependent on our circumstances but is an unchanging truth that we can hold onto no matter what. May our hearts be filled with gratitude for His goodness, and may we share that love with others.

Share a moment of thankfulness with someone today, recounting a recent experience where you felt God’s love. Let your gratitude be a testimony of His goodness to those around you.
