Give no offense to Jews or Greeks or to the church of God, just as I try to please everyone in everything I do, not seeking my own advantage, but that of many, that they may be saved. Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ. 1 Corinthians 10:32–11:1 (ESV)

Paul provides an example from his own life that often trips me up. His heart desires to live at peace with everyone, not seeking his advantage, but that people will come to know Christ.

He then goes on to say that we are to imitate him as he imitates Christ. He so longed to make sure everyone had an opportunity to make Christ their Lord because of the transformation that happened in his life. His heart desired to emulate Christ in all of his relationships.

The challenge for us is…are we representing Christ to others? Are we exhibiting the same characteristics that Jesus emulated when he grieved over people who were lost “like sheep without a shepherd?”

May we strive to be Christlike in our relationships with others. Putting away our desire to be first, may we humble ourselves as Christ did when he came to earth.

Blessings,
Chad
