It is a bold statement to say that God is everything that we will ever need in this life! While there may be those who will argue against it, the reality is still the same. Everything that we will ever need to find the fulfillment and purpose in this life is found in God. The key is having confidence in God, knowing that in His infinite wisdom, He knows exactly what we need and provides!

The Psalmist acknowledged, ”I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord; I have no good apart from you.” Psalm 16:2 (ESV)

As a believer, we recognize that God is everything that we would need in this life. In fact, we sing, preach, teach, and witness to the fact that He is not only our everything today, but also through eternity. Yet in spite of the fact that we boldly proclaim it, the details often get in the way when applying it.

“If I could have a bigger vacation.” “If I could only have the recognition of a position.” “If only I could find that someone who will complete me.” Or worse yet, alleviating the struggles and trials of this life and the overburden of sin by numbing it in some way. The Psalmist says,

“The sorrows of those who run after another god shall multiply.” Psalm 16:4 (ESV) In fact, those who search for anything other than God to satisfy their lives, will multiply their sorrows. Sorrow upon sorrow only spirals downward until you hit rock bottom.

To the world today, it may seem like a far-fetched idea that God could be everything that we need. Yet, when you closely examine the character of the culture, you will find a world that is spiraling as self-worship become idolized. The focus of our media consumption and ideologies all point to self as being the answer to our world’s problems. We tend to follow the pattern of the Israelites who were unfaithful and prone to “run after another god.” Psalm 16:4 (ESV)

For the believer, “The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup; you hold my lot.” Psalm 16:5

He is all that we could ever need in this life. “I have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.” Psalm 16:8 (ESV) God is the only one who can bring hope into our lives and promises that we will have a future with Him.

We just need to repent and commit our lives to Him!

Too often I have seen those who I loved and cared about, lose so much because of sin in their lives. However, I have also seen lives changed and transformed by one encounter with the living God. When transformation happens, the realization of all that God has for them becomes abundantly clear. He has so much to offer, accept His gift!

It begins with Christ!

If you don’t know Christ as your savior, it all begins with the first step. Committing your life to serve Him is the greatest decision you will make in your life! Finally, for more information on serving the Lord: CLICK HERE!
