When I Feel Guilty

As our fallen nature rises at times, Satan is always quick to remind us of our failures even after our repentance. His goal is to keep us from experiencing the freedom of forgiveness and the joy of His grace. So when I feel guilty of sins I have already repented of, I have to remind myself:

📖 “Come now, let us reason together,” says the Lord.
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red as crimson,
they shall be like wool.” Isaiah 1:18

🌺 Sins Like Scarlet

Isaiah paints a vivid picture using the deep scarlet and purple dye made from the murex shellfish by the Phoenicians. This dye was so potent that the color could never be washed out once a garment was stained. This represents the seemingly indelible stain of our sins.

✝️ The Deduction

However, if we sincerely seek God’s forgiveness, no sin is too big to be forgiven. His promise assures us that even the deepest stains of our wrongdoings can be made pure.

❄️ The Treasures of the Snow

C.H. Spurgeon once shared a powerful reflection: In the depth of winter, the black earth and barren fields were suddenly transformed by a blanket of snow, covering all with dazzling whiteness. This vision mirrored God’s promise to us: though our sins are as scarlet, they will be as white as snow.

Let this be a reminder today: No matter how deep the stain of guilt may feel, God’s grace is greater. He can transform our scarlet sins into the purest white, washing us clean and making us new. Seek His forgiveness, for His mercy is boundless and His love unending. 🙏
