It is comforting to know that God is always present and available to us.  Regardless of the season, blessing, or trials, God is there.  At times He may feel like he is far away but He is ever-present and promised that he would never leave or forsake us.

The Psalmist also understood this aspect of his relationship with God.

The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. Psalm 145:18 (ESV)

While we understand that God is with us during difficulty, we are also aware that He is a necessity in doing His will.  We have the power to be a witness because he promised that He would give us His presence and power.  Jesus said that he would be with us until the end of the age.

He is also a big help in keeping us from sin! In fact, there is not one temptation that comes at us that He does not give us the strength to resist.

No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13 (ESV)

Knowing the ever-present God is with us motivates us to live in holiness.

The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good. Proverbs 15:3 (ESV)

“For his eyes are on the ways of a man, and he sees all his steps. There is no gloom or deep darkness where evildoers may hide themselves. Job 34:21–22 (ESV)
