Helping students to develop the skill of preparing and delivering sermons. While I am not the best at homiletics,
it was challenging for those of us who do preach and for those beginning. It was fun to talk about the skill development and preparation needed to preach the gospel.
It is comforting to know that God is always present and available to us. Regardless of the season, blessing, or trials, God is there. At times He may feel like he is far away but He is ever-present and promised that he would never leave or forsake us.
From the very beginning, God created us with the need for a relationship with him and relationships with others. In fact, God said of Adam that it was not good for him to be alone and created Eve to fill that need in Adam’s life. Similarly, we need relationships with one another in order for us to be a healthy church and to fulfill the purposes God established in Acts 2.
A healthy church has been designed by God to be committed to Him, His church, and His mission to spread the Gospel. In spite of the hardships, culture, and political atmosphere, the church in Acts thrived on this purpose. Today's church must recognize that in order to be healthy, we must commit ourselves to thriving in community together!
God alone is and always will be the ruler of all of the known world. He alone deserves our honor, commitment, and service. When we chose to serve him, we allow Him to be Lord of all that we are.
