Today’s post will be short and sweet. The verse that I am sharing comes from my daily reading in the Book of Proverbs. It speaks to the importance of eternal priorities in the focus that we have on earth. Producing fruit that lasts begins with knowing God’s heart and fulfilling His purposes for our lives.
The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and whoever captures souls is wise. Proverbs 11:30 (ESV)
We often pursue things in this life that will not matter much in the end. One common quote that I often hear is that you will never see a Uhaul being pulled behind a hearse. Yet, for most in this world, the pursuit of things becomes such a priority that they forget the most important things.
The writer of Proverbs said that the fruit of the righteous produces life and ties it to the winning of souls. In other words, when we share the gospel, lead people to Christ, and follow God’s heart, we produce true life. Not only do we fulfill the purposes of this life that God gave to us, but it also produces life and joy in our lives.
As believers, our passion must be to see as many of our friends, family, and people around the world, coming to know Christ. Seeing people’s lives transformed must dominate the activity of the church. As a result, the church will see new life come into it.
Prioritize winning souls and you will produce fruit that lasts eternally!
