Scriptures teach the importance of having an authentic experience with the living God. It stresses that it is a possibility and a reality for those who seek Him. When we commit ourselves to connect to Him, He is always available to reveal Himself to us. We can taste and see that God is good and that His blessings are abundant!
Scripture
Open your mouth and taste, open your eyes and see— how good God is. Blessed are you who run to him. Psalm 34:8 (The Message)
So how do we experience Him? We can have a personal experience with God by recognizing the grace, blessing, and love of our Heavenly Father. Knowing God is as simple as committing our lives to serve Him, repenting from our sins, and opening the door to a relationship with Him.
Once you have tasted God’s goodness and experienced His grace, there is no getting away from it. Even if we walk away from Him, we will constantly be reminded of the blessings of God in our lives. His Spirit continually calls us to come back and commit our lives to serve Him.
Scripture
Once people have seen the light, gotten a taste of heaven and been part of the work of the Holy Spirit, once they’ve personally experienced the sheer goodness of God’s Word and the powers breaking in on us—if then they turn their backs on it, washing their hands of the whole thing, well, they can’t start over as if nothing happened. That’s impossible. Why, they’ve re-crucified Jesus! They’ve repudiated him in public! Hebrews 6:4–6 (The Message)
Additionally, we can experience God through scriptures. Reading, studying, and meditating on the Word gives us a glimpse into a God who loves people and cares for them. While so many people failed in serving God in Scripture, the fact that God sent His Son to bring redemption to a world that rejected Him is fantastic!
Scripture
And how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:15–17 (ESV)
This Easter, God is calling all the world back to Him. Invitations will go out, families will gather, and the reminder of all that God did through Christ will be shared. The question is, are we willing to taste and see that God is good? He is calling each day. Responding to Him will bring true life and a fulfilled purpose!
