There is so much about life that we cannot handle by ourselves. Additionally, God has a plan for our lives that requires us to go beyond our limitations. Even though we are limited by our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual capacities, we serve a God who enables living beyond your limits! God calls us to have a life full of bold faith to believe that He will do extraordinary things through our lives!

Scripture

Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4 (ESV)

When we consider the magnitude of God and the miraculous power He has, why do we expect so little of Him? C.S. Lewis offers this thought:

We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are far too easily pleased. (Lewis 1996, 1–2) Taylor, C. (2006). Prayer and Worship: An independent-study textbook (p. 54). Global University.

“We are far too easily pleased.” This is the reality isn’t it? We tend to settle for less than God’s best and fill it with things that will not satisfy from this world. It isn’t just limited to drinking, sex, and ambition. Rather it could be work, entertainment, or even church, allowing the routines crowd out the desire to live and long for Him!

“Quietly, imperceptibly, we begin to expect less of him, and end up being satisfied with that. Good church people can stop wondering, ‘Why was it that wherever Paul went people rioted, but wherever we meet they serve coffee?’ ” (Patterson 2001, 58–59). Taylor, C. (2006). Prayer and Worship: An independent-study textbook (p. 54). Global University.

Ultimately it is our decision to stay in the mundane of life, or live the adventure of following a limitless God. There is so much that awaits those who would give thier all to God with reckless abandon. Imagine the possiblities! Don’t settle for less than in your life, instead give God your all and live in the expecation that He will give His best to you!

It begins with Christ!

If you don’t know Christ as your savior, it begins with the first step. Next, committing your life to serve Him is the most significant decision! Finally, for more information on serving the Lord: CLICK HERE!
