Scriptures teach believers to love God with all their hearts and how that love is to be expressed in worship and service. Truly loving the Lord begins with a wholehearted commitment to being in a relationship with Him. As a result, we will not only experience fulfillment in our lives but will be vocal witnesses of the most important relationship we have!
The Psalmist declared, “I love the Lord, because he has heard my voice and my pleas for mercy. Because he inclined his ear to me, therefore I will call on him as long as I live.” Psalm 116:1–2 (ESV) The experience of mercy that God had generously given compelled the Psalmist to declare his love for the Lord. In addition, he committed to calling upon God for the rest of his life!
Because of this love for the Father, we will:
- Desire to be with God and in His house with other believers.
- Have a passion for reading and studying God’s word.
- Sacrifice prideful and selfish desires and replace them with His.
- Be a generous and cheerful giver.
- Walk in obedience to the will of the Father.
- Love others with the same love the Father has for us.
It begins with Christ!
If you don’t know Christ as your savior, it begins with the first step. Next, committing your life to serve Him is the most significant decision! Finally, for more information on serving the Lord: CLICK HERE!
